You want these tyres to prevent the steel wheels damaging your workshop floor do you . you can cut the tread out of an ordinary car tyre to do this , you can cut out a strip that has the same length as the circumference as your steel wheels ..then bond it with araldite after scuffing up the steel to it. other than that try

The tyres are for a model steam vehicle. Ideally they should be moulded/bonded direct onto the wheel but I have used strip before and glued it on (a different model). Unfortunately this strip is too small for this model and the supplier of the strip do not have an alternative.

Have you considered vulicanizing your own tires? If you have a lathe and access to v virgin rubber used for recapping automotive tires, then the process is easy. The results are worth the time to machine the three piece molds.

Have you tried "Double B Designs" they used to do a range of extruded traction engine rubber tyre sections. My dad used them on a 3" scale burrell road loco very succesfully.
