Could someone take a moment and explain where varathanes and urethanes are in the resin families ? Are the related to polyesters and epoxies or closer to acrylics ?Thank you.Tinker

Question is way too broad. Chemistry is all different. Varathane is apparently a polyurethane. Don't know exact chemistry but polyurethanes, when cured are crosslinked as are polyesters and epoxies. Acrylics are generally not crosslinked but some are. If you are talking about paints and finishes chemistry is different as for thermoplastics vs thermosets. I'm sure this is not helping you ;( Frank

Urethanes are a vast chemical family and it would depend on which one you mean.
Varathane is not an offical polymer science term that I'm aware of - it sounds like a trade name for a urethane.
