Anyone know what this means?

when I modify my top bar menu and try to save it ProE crashes and my std.out (I don't get std.err) the last line reads:

type ABS; type ABS; Serious internal error; cannot continue.

It's WF M040. Maybe there's something wrong with my anti-lock brakes?

I think (just guessing) that ABS means absolute (no offset) so no 'offset' code. What it's telling you is that you need to upgrade that initial production release of Wildfire to something more mature (should be in the

200-300 range). Later builds got rid of such fluky failures. I crashed WF2.220 this afternoon - quite a surprise - hadn't crashed it in a month. Lost a couple hours worth of work, but 2 hours in a month? common on, that's nothing compared to the bad old days! Naturally, you've got maintenance because no one in business is THAT shortsighted. So, just download the latest build. Many fluky, quirky, goofy problems get solved (oops, sorry, I'm giving the plot away!?!{;+/,})

Are you sure you don't work for them? Their solution is always to get the latest build. I believe it's only up to M070 (we're talking WF3).

Well, that is a significant piece of news! WF3, imagine me forgetting that!!!

Oh, now you're hitting on a sore spot! How did you know I wanted to work for PTC!?! That's amazing. Yeah, we talked but, somehow, in the conversation it came up that I might be a "loose cannon", a "mole", a "whistle blower", some other phrases that I can't remember, and, finally I said, 'hey screw this if i wanted to be insulted i'll go talk to my brother, the 'elder statesman'" Seriously, though, if I worked for PTC, I'd be giving you build and release date of when that well known bug was fixed or, at least, when it was reported (I could check the website for you, if you'd like!?!). And, apparently, it hasn't, because after you downloaded M70, it STILL wasn't fixed :-(, BUMMER So, here's another one of those insider tips: report it to the Customer Service helpline. Need their web address or phone number? (I think I found it in the Customer Support section of the Help files. But I have it tacked to my cube walls if you need it.)

Nah, we'll all be on M070 soon. See what happens then. You know, I think you oughta take a vacation;-) get away from that ProE for a while!

Sorry, no! going in just the opposite direction ~ into total PLP obsession (Precision Learning Program). I've been targetted for improvement. If you think I'm bad now, wait till they've had me in their clutches for a year.

BTW, I just remembered this: in WF3 there's a thing called a Traceback.log file created in your working directory (workspace?) which contains a lot of hex data that CS can use to figure stuff out about the crash. The STD.OUT and STD.ERR files are now kind of passe.
