Anyone know what this means? I get in an "errors..lst" when I regenerate a particular part.

Pro/e leaves bunches of those turds around working directories/workspaces. Usually they're text files so you can open them with Notepad and see what's in them. Does it say or do anything more than show that little bit of an error message? "Embedded datum" sounds like an external sketch copied into a feature.

That's all it says. I've just been up the tree feature by feature, regenerating each time, and as soon as I go before an external sketch (as you say above) the error stops. The sketch had been unlinked from a feature so I deleted it - it had no children - and no mo' error!
