When constructing a homemade jet, could compressed air from a shop compressor be used. My idea was to use a flame tube much like the setup on a turbojet made with a turbocharger. Any comments or advice welcome!

Sounds somewhat like a ramjet (or pulsejet - similar to what was used on the V-1.) You *might* get more help on one of the R/C groups...
possible, but i've seen them use leaf blowers more often
