I seem to recall a recent discussion/advertisement about a tower launcher, but can't seem to find it.
So, can anyone recommend a good tower launcher (or plans to build one -- though I'm not really a 'metal worker')?

How big of a tower are you looking for? Something could probably be built from a bunch of body tubes for smaller model rockets. Use the same techniques as building a stand or rocket and no metal work required.

More for mid-power and lower-end high-power (H/I/J) rockets, but it would be nice to use for some high performance modrocs as well.

I helped to demo this product at LDRS in Amarillo. The price was around $1600. I don't believe more than the prototype was ever made.
The prototype was shipped to BALLS 2002 for the Gates Brothers to test, but I don't think they bought it.
I heard something about a new less expensive model, but I know nothing about it. I've not spoken with the company owner since Sept 2002 or so. He seems to have made a splash around LDRS 2002 and then disappeared.

I built towers for 29mm and 38mm minimum diameter rockets using 6' lengths of conduit. Base and upper spreader made from 2x10 lumber. Cost was a few bucks each.
