hello, did something change in this group? I am getting only about 1 or 2 new posts a week since jan 2, I posted a test message and another test message with request to reply here and by email, neither post showed on the list, but a reply did show up? its probably aol, but thought i would ask around the group, I probably wont see this post, but hope to see replies or if someone know for sure its aol, let me know please, or any idea's thanks again, Le

There's been a fair amount of traffic lately... I saw your previous message and tried to reply by e-mail and news-posting. (This one is going out both ways also.)
It's probably something specific to your news server or software rather than the group itself (which is appearing normally on other servers, such as "news.individual.net" where I am reading it)... perhaps your news server rolled over its message index numbers or something, so your news client may be misinterpreting the header information on unread messages and thinking they are already "read"... so if it's configured to "show only unread messages" you may not be seeing them.
Some things you can try (in increasing order of severity) - the idea is to make your news software show all the messages on the server as if you were subscribing for the first time, instead of just the ones that it thinks you "haven't read yet":
- See if your news software has a setting for "show/download all messages" instead of "unread messages only"...
- Unsubscribe and then resubscribe your software to the newsgroup.
- Resubscribe to the same newsgroup on a different server.
- Uninstall and reinstall your news software, removing any local configuration and cache files before reinstalling.

Yes, several different providers have made changes since Jan.1, some earlier, and it has really messed many of us up.
