Homing Pidgeons as WMD

I think I have heard it all now........the UK back in WW2 considered used Homing Pigeons to carry bio-weapons.....I'm sure the Muslim extremists really like this idea, talk about cheap and dirty.....and who needs rockets to deliver WMD when you got trained birds..... I guess now the BATFE will try to license people who have pigeons?

The first bio-terror weapons were used during a siege when rotting animals or disease ridden corpses where catapulted over city walls. During WWII the Japanese launched the first inter-continental WMD when they sent balloon bombs in an attempt to ignite the forests of the pacific northwest. Due to the wet season, they failed but did manage to kill a few people too curious to let balloon bombs lay. Of course the kamikaze showed the devastation that could be wrought by an bomb laden aircraft...

And the USAF experimented with using live bats carrying incendiary devices, to set fires in Japan. IIRC they weren't very successful, but they did manage to burn up an officer's car during testing, thus setting an example for the ATF to follow 60 years later.
