That's _our government_ you're talking about... if "they" are so far gone in their irrational fears that they become an object of fear to the citizenry itself, then it's past time that "putting the government in trouble" becomes a higher priority for loyal Americans than "trying not to get in trouble with the government".

I subscribe to an astronomy newsgroup on astrophotography, and one of the current running threads is about how some folks are figuring out how to use their CCD and software to make a mosaic of some different astronomical objects. It's fairly interesting to an astronomy geek, and everytime I stroll through rmr and see a 'mosaic' comment my mind does a mental double-take and switches from 'rocket politics and name-calling' mode to 'astrophotography' mode...

No, it's a fully assembled propellent actuated industrial tool. Same exemption as a PAD, just different name.

I accept that the ATF may eventually create a rule saying that reloads for rocket motor PADs do not have the same exemption as reloads for other types of PADs. Until they do, to my knowledge no such rule exists.

I don't care what you do with your magazine or your log. This isn't about you or how you store reloads. It's about how vendors sell reloads.

Ok, I'll explain it a step at a time. Try to follow along. If you object to any of it, please be specific...

1. Propellent Actuated Industrial Tools and Propellent Actuated Devices are the same thing, regulation wise. They both share the exemption for things that are propellent actuated. Do you deny this?
2. The statement from our lawyers/TRA/NAR said that fully assembled rocket motors are PADs. They did NOT say that "fully assembled rocket motors are exempt" -- they said they are PADs, and fall under the PAD exemption. Do you deny this?
3. If they are PADs, then it follows that they enjoy the same full range of exemptions that other PADs or PAITs enjoy. Do you deny this?
4. Other types of PADs and PAITs use some form of propellent loads which are sold separately from the PAD/PAIT itself. Do you deny this?
5. Those propellent loads are just as exempt as the PAD/PAIT itself, despite the fact that the loads are not PADs/PAITs. Do you deny this?
6. Since the propellent LOADS for other types of PADs/PAITs enjoy the benefit of the exemption for PADs, there is no rational reason to believe that the loads for our PADs are somehow excluded from the exemption. Do you deny this?

The Clark county folks were looking for scapegoats after they burned down the whole complex. Remember the guy who said they didn't have permits that they had or that weren't even required?
