I picked up a ton of red/blue LED flashers a couple of weeks ago anddecided to see how long one would flash before burning out. The blueLED stopped flashing after about 24 hours, but the red LED kept goingfor six days. I was amazed because the flasher is only powered bythree small hearing aid batteries. Does anyone know why the blue woulddie sooner than the red? It seems to be areproducible phenomenon.I glued 4 of them onto tire valve stem caps and my son drove for 2hours with them on his car at last week's Woodward Dream Cruise. Iused the strong magnet on the back to see if they would hold on asteel rim by themselves. Amazingly, 3 of 4 stayed on my car despite a10 mile at 75 mph trip home on I-75.I also placed three on the driver's side and passenger's side doors.Once it got dark enough, fellow cruisers became paranoid as I droveclose to them because the bright LEDs flashing looked like a cop car.;-)But, back to rockets. The reason that I mention it is because I amsoliciting possible applications for these little buggers. Bill, Most good e-matches will fire off a 1.5V battery. And a good altimeter will recognise that.

A way to make a consumable rocket far more aesthetic to the wildlifwe who will use it for nesting. I mean, come on what squirrel would not like a 3" pearl blue home complete with a nylon ripstop comforter?

I just finished up a 3" mailing tube rocket that I laminated with Walnut veneer. I'd imagine that the critters would really love that beast, especially the beavers. ;-) I'll have to post some photos of it on ABMR.
