NAR HPR Safety Code

The NAR publishes a combined list twice a year. It lists all motors valid for NAR launches, from NAR, TRA, and CAR. THere's a link to it off the NAR certified motor page.

I've yet to find anything too hot for me to eat that someone else could eat. I do Tobasco shots straight from the bottle.

With that tiny dripper neck, it's pretty hard to chug the bottle.

Yeah, but if you empty the bottle into a cup and then chug it...

That isn't the point. The point is what is stated in the "rules". If the actual implementation is different, then the rules should reflect such...

That is unless "NAR-certified" is equated to listing by all orgs the NAR deems admissible... which is apparently the case.

If I were a betting man... ... you'd have competition. Every try Louisiana #5? A teaspoon has more hot than a whole bottle of Tobasco. They usually only put a few drops in a whole pot of chili.

NAR differentiates in some cases but not in others so there IS a differentiation.

Both NAR and TRA are in no comment mode right now generally so it seems a subponea ought to break this logjam loose.

even that takes a long time.

I wish I'd picked up one of the gallon jugs of Tabasco back when I saw them. My boss did bring me a gallon jug of Franks, which lasted me almost a year...

Never seen that one. THe only one that ever toasted me was Daves Insanity. I tried to use it like Tabasco, and didn't realize it was made from pepper EXTRACT...

I don't remember the show, but they took a tour of the Tabasco factory. Huge vats (like on the brewery tours) and this guy flips the door open for a sample or to show the camera and the hosts eyes were watering.

Bob,

I'll try to get this on the 02/07/04 NAR meeting agenda. I'd be glad to discuss possible change options with you. Just drop me an e-mail.

You might mention it's been a while since we've heard anything about the suit.

I think that both the model and HPR safety codes should read the same. Perhaps something like

Motors. I will use only certified rocket motors. I will not use them for any purposes except those recommended by the manufacturer. I will not alter the rocket motor, its parts, or its ingredients in any way unless specifically authorized by the manufacturer with approval of NAR S&T following certification testing of modification.

(the last part is because the CTI motors allow modification for delay. However, without the requirement of NAR S&T approval, it would allow the manufacturer to authorize field mods as AT did with the J350s.)

So what? If the manufacturer authorizes a modification, that should be good enough. Why make things more difficult than they need to be?

That is the current status quo and you are a status quo junkie. You tell us.
