I remember not too long ago that this group used to have some model rocketry related posts. Where did they go?

I , for one, am sick of heatrig about Brad Guth's credentials or lack of them, and whether or not Thr Govt faked the Apollo oon landings and what is politically correct as far as drunks in bars.

Just to have some modroc content, I finished my Big Bretha 3 engine cluster and will paint it in a couple of days. Might be able to get some pics put up on ABPMR.

Ya know, I've been thinking the same thing of late, as well.

Just sold off most of my modroc bits and pieces; just don't have time for LPR anymore. I did keep some stuff, though, so my kids have something to fly when I they come to a launch with me.

Also just got word that a rocket I shipped to VA for painting is almost ready to come home. Should have it next week; can't wait to see it!

That goes for me too, as I'd much rather focus upon the sorts of small/compact rockets that'll best accomplish the most payload(s) of getting microsatellites to LL-1.

GOT COMPOSITE ROCKET that'll accomplish 10+kg?

Then why do you keep 'discussing' it?

Kill files are your friends. I don't see any of those threads unless they change the subkect. Then I see one post.

I'm kind of out of the launching mode for a while, and am pretty busy, but I've got a Semroc Mars Lander that I'm building. I'm REALLY pleased with this kit, and (in my mind) I'm hoping it will do justice to the one I had as a kid (which in my own memory must have been just PERFECT!).

As an additional rocketry related question, what would folks recommend for the simplest/cheapest kit scale model rocket for a group of kids? Again, requirements are simplicity, cost, and an actual 'scale' model.

I like the Semroc "Aerobee Hi" (admittedly not 100% accurate) and their "Astrobee 350".

ThrustAero also has their very nice clones of the classic Estes "Honest John" (both the BT-50 and BT-55 version); the "Little John", "Aerobee 300", "WAC Corporal" and the BT-55 V-2. They also have a very nice BT-60 sized V-2 in their line of original kits.

I have all of the above, in various stages of construction, and am very pleased with each.

I've been killfiling the people who post responses to the insane cross-posted threads. I've probably killfiled many "normal" r.m.r. posters who jumped on the stupidity bandwagon.

So far I have not killfiled Bob k and David E-W, but if I click too fast.....

There is also "Mark conversation as read" and "Ignore conversation", but killfiling is so satisfying....

Where is the fun in that? If the responders can't be bothered to eliminate the x-posts then far be it from me to do so.

What cracks me up is a top posting git taking such a superior tone on a netiquette issue.

Oh, and "meow".

Hummmmm, did I just read two new items qualified for for the FAQ?? (:-)

Top posting is a courtesy to the intended reader(s) - it enables them to conveniently read the response without needing to scroll down. The only time bottom-posting is really required, is when multiple points are being addressed sequentially. With quoted text clearly indented, only the most dimwitted reader has difficulty discerning the responder's text from that which is being replied to. Thus, only the dimwitted have a problem with it.

Phil Stein; Then why do you keep 'discussing' it?

What the freaking hell has that pathetic statement got to do with the question of small multi-stage or composite rocket getting 10+kg to LL-1?

As much as I enjoy needling the trolls, I have to agree with you.

One of the TARC teams I mentor (Pennridge High in PA) is going to have their qualification flight next weekend. I'm going to witness it. The team used some Estes Scrambler egg capsules I got from a hobby shop that was goung out of business. I can't wait to see how they will do.

Are they coming to PARA Sunday?

I'll try to be there. A robotics team I'm mentoring has their competition at Drexel From Thursday thru Saturday. By the time that's over, I might be to burnt out to go Sunday. We'll see.

It's a shame that this group is heading in the direction that it is. At least when Jerry used to rant about things that were related to the hobby. The current crop of morons don't have a clue.

As a one time courtesy, I want you to know that I will never discuss anything with you unless it pertains to something on topic. Last I checked, Apollo wasn't a model or a rocket. Anyway, don't bother asking.

Another clueless, top posting git posting in defense of the brotherhood of clapperheads. Suprise suprise.

How are we ever going to get a good cascade if you keep top posting?
