(1) What type of propulsion system was used for the rocket in the movie "Things to Come" by H.G. Wells circa 1936?

(2) What was the name of the movie where they constructed huge rocket motors on earth to move it's orbit out of the way of destruction from another object hurtling through space?

(3) What planet does the UN travel to in 2001 in "Journey to the _____ Planet"?

I don't know, but I'm guessing it involved a whole lot of hamsters.

Chad,

You got #1 and #3 RIGHT! Must have been a heck of a lot a g force coming out of that gun!

#2 May be a foreign type of movie, kinda like a Godzilla flick.

Made by the same studio in 1962.

"Gorath" - huge rocket motors on the South Pole to move the Earth out of the way of a 'black hole' that was red 8-)

Now - how were they going to put it back?

Brett

Brett,

You got it!

Had to do something about rockets, these were some of the odd ones. Ordered Gorath today to get a copy. I don't know what they had planned to get it back on course, unless they had motors on the opposite pole!

Bobby

p.s. Alan,

I really don't know if it was black powder, but it sure was big! Kind of like using a gas generator.

"A U.N. space expedition to the planet Uranus discovers a bizarre world right out of their own heads, featuring places and people the crew members recall from childhood. It's all part of a fantasy created by the planet's master, a giant, pulsating brain that can also turn their worst thoughts into reality."

Steve,

I believe some of their thoughts were pretty good looking.

Robert

Also reminds me of an original Star Trek episode. Night in shining armor, tiger, P51 mustang, etc.
