Calgary, AB (ROL Newswire) -- The Canadian Association of Rocketry (CAR) is pleased to announce a new Executive Team for the 2005/2006 term. The election sees Ian M. Stephens elected President, Tim Rempel elected Vice President and Andrew Longdale elected Secretary-Treasurer. Mr. Stephens replaces David Ross who served two terms as President and Chairman of the Association. Mr. Ross will stay on the Executive Team in the capacity of Past Chairman, replacing Vince Chichak. The 2004 Election was held in December 2004, where there was only one candidate nominated for each position. As such no ballots were issued as the candidates were elected by acclimation.
In addition to the new Executive Team, the Association is also pleased to announce three other new positions. Mr. Shane Weatherill has accepted the position of Web Administrator, managing the Association's website and electronic communications, including Earthrise, the Association's newsletter. Mr. Ken Baldwin has accepted the newly created position of News Manager, and will be the focal point for news releases and the collection of news and activities related to amateur rocketry in Canada. Finally, Mr. David Ross has accepted the newly created position of Manager, Insurance and Risk Assessment.
