ROL NEWS--Squirrel Works Releases Tuber Kit

Squirrel Works Releases Tuber Kit April 18, 2005 Web posted at: 1:08 PM EDT

(ROL Newswire) -- The Squirrel Works Model Rocketry is pleased to announce the release of their newest kit. Designed by legendary north Texas rocketeer Doug Sams, the Tuber is a 23.375 inch long two stage tube finned rocket that uses 24 mm motors. The kit features a balsa nose cone and laser cut balsa fins for the booster. The tube fins for the upper stage have been precut with the correct bevel, eliminating tedious hand cutting. Doug's signature has been incorporated into the water slide decal. The booster stage tumbles back to earth, and the sustainer descends on two mylar streamers. This design incorporates a rear engine block in the booster so proper stage separation is assured. Doug will hand sign the face cards of the first 100 kits produced.

The Tuber is the first in the new Signature Series from Squirrel Works. The Signature Series will feature kits designed by prominent rocketeers from across the country. For more information on the entire Squirrel Works line or for information on submitting a kit design, visit their web site at
