1/48 Italeri EA-18G Growler

Anyone popped the cover on this to see if its just that first release with a new weapons set?

Anyone know when monogram's F/A-18F is releasing soon?

Someone brought one to our last club meeting - it's just the same F kit with ALQ-99 pods thrown in...which means it's even MORE wrong...

...right down to the decals showing the BUNO for F1 - the first EMD F model Super Hornet, and the one in all of the "Growler" pictures floating around the web. SO - unless you want to build a prototype, I'd reccomend you wait a year...or two.

Don't know about Monogam's F - seen Revell's newest...would be nice to see a new, original moulding from Monogram.

The unofficial nickname for Italeri's F/A-18E is the Whorenet. The EA-18G is probably the Howler.

Italeri have, to their credit, revised the mould to delete the dorsal airbrake which is only used by the legacy Hornets, and changed the vents between the tails to a production standard shape, whilst not being a state of the art kit it does look like a Super Hornet when built, just be prepared to do some of that modelling stuff that were supposed to know about.

Take a look here for a review :
