I am building the P-47D VF * W 42-7959 flown by Captain James Goodson from the fourth fighter group in 1:32 (Yes the old Revell). He had this plane from september 43 to february 44. In september 43 the red surround on the markings were changed to blue, so his plane probably had blue and not red surround. But did it have two large markings on the lower wings as some Thunderbolts had in the European Theatre? Or did it have red surround and four markings only?
If it had the red surround, does anyone have an idea of where to get decals for that? I havent been able to find any in 1:32 scale, but maybe there's a 1:48 scale bomber kit with some, or a decal sheet for one - Anyone know of one?
