Northrup BT-1 (Daddy of the Dauntless). Shouldn't be too much of a stretch from their SBD. I know it will never happen, but one can dream.

Grumman F11F Tiger - The most Beautiful Blue Angels plane ever.

As long as we're wishing, how about a current technology F-80/T-33. Or that rumored Hun. My era of aviation.

WWII Soviet twins - Tu-2, Il-4, DB-3. The Bat has been done in resin by Pend Oreille, but I neve rcould find one. If there's someone willing to part with it, I'd be interested.

All of those kits have been done recently with the exception of the AMtech P-61. If you'd like AccMin to stay in business this time we need to get an economically profitable item that lotsa folks will buy. hth

Well then, how about an accurate Stearman Kaydett in 1/48? Lots of options, US and foreign military, civilian, airshow etc.

Plenty of data and actual examples to develop plans from.

It should at least be as popular as some of the esoteric aircraft being kitted these days.

They won't stay in business that way, since the most desirable subjects in 1/48 have all been done. They're better off doing a new mold of something potentially popular where the present 'best' is old and questionable. The P-61/F-15 is probably a great choice from that perspective. A new-tool A-20/Havoc/Boston/P-70 (numerous variants are possible) might be another good choice. A good Spitfire VII/VIII/XIV might be worthwhile, though there's a lot of competiton there. Has anyone done a really good P-51H in 1/48? Or what about an F-101? Trouble is, that last one might be too big for them. Something along the lines of a P-80/F-80/T-33 makes a lot of sense.

What's wrong with the AMT/ERTL kits??

Based on the way Accurate Minatures did their earlier kits (especially the Avengers), I think they'd turn out a superior kit of that series. Enough better to justify a proabable higher price? I don't know about that.

Monogram did an excellent (other than the wing-to-fuselage join) [R]F-101B, but an all-IM A/C-model and the subsequent Recon versions would be nice too.

It would be nice to have AM do an A-20 to their level but since AMT's kits are already out, the market is satiated. No money for AM there. Steve's idea of the Stearman certainly bears weight; the Lindberg kit is long in the tooth. The problem with that is "no gun." Trainers are popular with people who are familiar with them but for a kit to be a really popular money maker it should have armament. I wonder how good a seller the Ruttan vehicle would be? Cheers,

Who sez ya cain't put guns on a Stearman? ; )~ I have a couple of the Lindberg kits--anything problems I need to know about before tackling them?
