Actually Model Related: 1/24 Pickup Question

Is there a tailgate extension available in aftermarket or one of the plastic kits? By that I mean the tubular framework that sits on the lowered tailgate to extend the length of the bed. Thanks.

Robert, That can't be too hard to put together with a little bit of sprue, a candle to make it pliable and some CA can it? Think of it as getting your toe wet in the slippery slope of scratchbuilding ;) Allen

Get a couple of old model cattle yards and cut and glue (weld?) them up to suit.

Hope this helps, Peter

Thanks, but if you only knew how much scratchbuilding I do/have done. I was hoping to save a little time as I've already done two brush guards with winches, among many other things, just on this project alone. You're right though, it can't be that difficult.

and for a mere $500 to caswell, you can buy a chrome kit that will plate plastic! now that's a dedicated modeler.

The trucks are finished save for the extensions. I'll gladly post pics when I'm done. To see the originals (Tacoma gun trucks in Afghanistan, go to:

current 1:1 project is a Dnepr with sidecar. Found a demilled DP MG for $695 to mount on it, but would rather mount a PK MG. Anyone know of a source for demilitarizd MGs by chance?

Nice shot's! Just got an e-mail from a buddy who is XO of a Prowler squadron in Afganistan. I'm not envious of you guys. I'd put up with a few more night traps on the boat than be ashore in that country. Pugs

Find a "gun nut" buddy who subscribes to Shotgun News (

) and get a recent issue from him. Lots of ads for demilled chatterguns.
