Airfix 25lb field gun w/quad

I'm building an Airfix 1/72 British 25lb field gun with quad vehicle, and since these kits are rather sparse on details, I need help. A pair of headlamps are shown on the box illustration, but none are included in the kit. I will therefore have to create some from something. However, the illustration shows them mounted to the front bumper, but another model of this vehicle (Tamiya 1/35) shows them mounted to the fenders. Where is the correct place? If I'm gonna add them, I want them right. Secondly, I'll have to make my own windows for it, since again none are included. Not including the windshield, are any of the smaller openings meant NOT to have windows? As always, thanks for any help.

Suggest you do a Google search for articles on and photos of the Quad Ant. The Tamiya vehicle depicts a Canadian-built Ford version, and may differ from the British variant (the 1/35th Italeri version depicts the later cab fitted to a Canadian Military Pattern Chevrolet) GPO

Re. the headlights: the Osprey book on the 25-pounder has a photo on page 19 of Quads in September 1940 with headlights on the bumpers.

All the window openings should be glazed. It was customary for British military vehicles to have opening windscreen panels though. The panesl on the drivers and passenger side were designed to hinge upward. The headlights were often a matter of which company built the vehicle (as the same pattern vehicle was often built by several different companies). Morris, for example, were known for mounting lights either side of the radiator frame. Best bet is to trawl the net and see if you can find some pics. Like this one
