I like Dullcoat a lot. It is a very good product. But, i model all year long. Dullcoat is especially bad in the Winter in a closed house. I have no way to vent it out of the house. The smell is strong and maybe good for the lungs, It makes you run out of the house and take alot of deep breaths. Sorry, just had to put that in. I have been modeling many years and i am always looking for new ways to do things, aren't we all. I have been using an other flatting agent and have been well pleased with it. I don't know if others have mentioned it, i don't read all of the posts. The product is MINWAX Polycrylic. It is a water based finish and has very little smell. If you want to try it get the Clear Satin. I got a quart can for about 12 bucks, and that should last me a lifetime. It sprays beautifully and looks very nice. It is not flat dull, but a more (in my eyes) realistic finish. I spray it straight out of the can, no thinning required. Actually i never thin paint, i spray right out of the bottle. It dries quickly. I have used it on Planes and Tanks and have been pleased with the results and feel confident to recommend it. Another data point for the hobby. Dick IPMS #1478
