I'm thinking about buying my first airbrush set, and this Aztek compressor looks interesting. Does anyone have any experience with it and comments about it? Thanks.

It has worked fine for me in my causal model building. Unbeatable for me at the price.

Mine started to make a really bad noise and then stopped. I took the case apart (cutting the warranty label as I went - gulp) and found that an allen screw had come loose of the piston shaft. A quick tighten and off it went again. Apart from that glitch it is great for the money.

For the price it cannot be beat... fairly quiet, no maintenance... small and out of the way. I like it. I also have a large compressor, but have gone to the blue for normal use.

Since this post from 1-12 just showed up on my ISP on 2-3 I'll hope my advice isn't too late. I feel that "airbrush compressors" are underpowered and overpriced. If you do some shopping at hardware outlets you should be able to find a quiet compressor with a reserve tank and regulator for less than the specialist model. And you'll be able to inflate flat tires and pool toys as well. hth

Quite true! I went to sears and bought a 4 gallon tank type complete with moisture trap, valves and regulators for about $200. It is a bit of a racket when the pump kicks in to refill the tank but otherwise it is great.

How long (hours?) did that tank last you?
