Book on PreWar American Fighters ??

There are some but many are OOP. The old "Harleyford" series of books are very good as each aircraft is covered and (Black and White) tone paintings are provided at the end of the book.
Also there are some good ones by Dana Bell on USAF and US Navy Colors -- the first volumes are the ones on the "Tween the War" fighters and aircraft.
