Looks like a modeler's Horror Movie - you accidently leave a cannister of radioactive toxic waste down the basement (or garage or attic), near your stash of unbuilt kits. The kit parts mutate into the Giant Sprue Man. At first it sneaks around at night smashing models that were actually finished, you blame the cat, but then it comes after YOU. Ed Wood and Roger Corman could have done wonders with this - and then a King Brothers Hasagawa/Tamiya version as Sprue Man versus Godzilla and Megallon. Finish building your models - beware beware.

Or, to make sure that your *next* model turns out just how you imagined it would, you glue Edward Woodward into the chest cavity then set fire to it.

I can picture the movie - all the folks on the island are ordering many mail order kits - but on examination there's only a few built kits on display, and most of the boxes in the modeler's stash of unbuilt kits are mysteriously empty. Sergeant Howie is a guy who gave up kit building, and doesn't considier it a worthwhile hobby. So he's the perfect sacrifice to the gods of plastic. He gets called in to discover, if none of the kits are being built, what are the islanders doing with the glue and paints.

I can't help but wonder what the sprue man is for - maybe a Phd project in fine arts - destined to be purchased for $1.5Million by an upscale art museum.
