Anyone else catch the low flyby at about 1145am today, heading north along the Potomac over Arlington National Cemetery? Looked like F-14's to me, in missing-man formation (funeral?)
Any comments?

There was a false alarm this morning of an unauthorized plane in restricted airspace close to the Whitehouse - might have had something to do with that.

The formation I observed flew right over Arlington National Cemetery, and looked more like F-14's rather then the usual F-15/F-16 DC CAP. Also, they flew right up the Potomac, so not sure if it is related or not; could be....have to watch the news tonight.

Missed it, but I did see that the White House was briefly evacuated today at
1145 due to an apparent false radar contact. The reports indicated USAF fighters were alerted. I wouldn't think you saw the scrambled USAF fighters at such low level.Maybe somebody forgot to tell NORAD about the Navy flight? ;-)

Heard them from my house, but couldnt see them due to trees............ Going to have to get rid of some of them now, they get in the way of my telescopes all the time as it is too. :)
