Are you referring to the nylons? Paint them the sameway that figure artists have been painting for ages, things such as the old Phoenix Phollies figures. Paint the flesh parts. Then, mix in a bit of your nylon stocking color with your flesh color, and paint the stocking-covered area. For the areas in shadow, add more stocking color to the mix. For areas of highlight, add more flesh color to the mix. Make sure the blending between the shaded areas, the "normal" areas, and the highlighted areas, is subtle (Using oils is recommended). When you think about it, it is not much different than the art behind painting "five-o'clock shadow" on the face of a male figure. The idea of using the airbrush, in order to get the translucent quality of the stockings, has merits...but really would only work on a full scale figure. In this small scale, you pretty much have to also paint in the shadows and highlights, so using the above-mentioned "tricks" is the way to go. Just look at a typical Sorayama painting, and see how he has mastered "nylons" using opaque colors. What he does in two-dimensions, you can do in three-dimensions.
