Take a look at this auciton and see if it doesn't remind you of some others. I especially like the all caps.

How about landry433? Other than the 100% positive feedback, he looks like another re-incarnation.

I'll tell you one thing, people on this NG have a LOOOONG memory! I bet if Al Babin tried to sneak back on 50 years from now one of you guys would spot him. It sure looks like his work, all right. You can certainly complain to ebay and if he's almost immediately booted off, you'd be right.

The mag chuck on my surface grinder came from Al Babin, as I'm sure Leigh remembers .. still works fine. I didn't buy directly from him, but I feel like it was an old Vox bass used by the Beatles or something, I should put a plaque on it saying "BOUGHT FROM AL BABIN BUT IT WORKS -- ONLY ONE KNOWN".

Landry433 actually is pretty good, i purchased a bunch of thier ebay offerings and am pleased with thier merchandise and service. If they are a babin affiliate they have cleaned thier act up.

Best Regards Tom.

Good one, sure I am selling but ebay knows and welcomed me back this time with the apology. I sell working machines and good parts only and have an excellant reputation around the country. Look in dictionary of cinnamins and Babin has same meaning as honesty, integrety, loyalty, truthfullness. I don't make this up. Many machines I rebuild and sell are still going strong. You are not alone Grant, look at Gunnerman's new planer. That is one I auctioned (patsygamblin I think) long time ago and still runs good. I planed atlas lathe bed with it before it went to ebay. I can make plaques but focus on science of poolcues making now for the good of mankind and self centering. Now you think of me everytime you grind? I still have internet picture of your sister with the KO Lee so my memory is good too. Notice that the last (that I knew of) incarnation, marjenmachines, has stopped doing business in a flood of negative feedback. Had a good run, I got lots of goodies in the early days while everyone was paranoid about the upper-case Bristol CT vendor.... Wonder how long the next one will last?

Would dearly like to get the rest of the slitt> Take a look at this auciton and see if it doesn't remind you of some

You know. I don't get why people continue to buy from someone like that.

If you see all that red ink in his feedback profile surely it's got to occur to you that this guy just might not be the best seller.

What makes people buy from these guys? Is it that it's such a good deal that you can't pass it up?

But something that puzzles me even more is why people are not reporting him as a non-performing seller. If you are a buyer, please report this guy as a non-performing seller. It's more important to report him as a NPS than it is to leave negative feedback. eBay will kick him off if he's a NPS, they won't do anything even if he's got hundreds of negs.

It looks as though you have a winner.

I particularly like the "description" of the Bridgeport dials. Only a '.' above the photo.

And zero feedback, 67 auctions already out there, and the spelling and phrasing all look typical.

The 3-4" B&S micrometer was photographed on a black background cloth, hiding most detail. (Hmm ... maybe a black or dark purple velvet lined box. -- or maybe not. :-)

And I love the DIAMON GRINNING WHEEL" :-)

Enjoy, DoN.

I bought a tailstock from landry433 that was $24 BIN and $12 shipping. I did the BIN and sent off the money. I received the tailstock in very good condition and the box has $36.85 postage on it. If you see what you want from this guy get it quick cuz he's going to go broke soon with this business model! lg no neat sig line.

I don't know. He was here, then I had a problem with my newsfeed, and when I finally got that straightened out (It took about a week), there was nothing more from him.

Does *anybody* know?

And he was the one in contact with the USPS police about the matter.

Enjoy, DoN.

Al Babin has (or did) have several people working for him, just look at all the auctions he run at once. Just to get all the items to sell is a full time job, then posting them is an even a bigger job. He has to be at least a

Look, it takes very long time to make good pixtures of machines and parts or whatever I am selling on the Ebay. That's whay I was aksing for the learned opinions on descripting the conditions in my ads but many pilloried me for no reason. My sons help me workis computer so can I say what? Need more time to do everything for auctioing in Ebay and developing properly balanced yet very lightness of poolcues for I am student too and must put food on table. SWMBO is hobbyist and ebayingb her niknaks for Christmas but is not a good cook for this Thanksgiving which haveing been blessed with otherwise she is mon amoure'. I hope this cleans the air finally that I am the honest ones. Connecticut seems to be a focal point. However one has to be careful, I just purchased an acorn die head from a 'suspect' city there, from a seller who was not marjen or landryxxx. I had paid in cash, and the article showed up right on time and looked exactly right. So there are other machinery dealers in the area.

It is also just *barely* possible that either a) the other tool sellers in the area are leaning on 'ol Al to straighten up, or b) maybe he's realized he can make more money by being a better seller.

Aren't I supposed to win somethng good for spotting Al? In reference to "where's Pete". He says he got bored with and annoyed by some of the RCMers and the OT stuff going on. I still see him a couple of times a month and I can assure you he's looking quite healthy. Leigh@MarMachine
