Injured Modeling Finger Alert

I have torn the extensor tendon and fractured the articular surface of my middle finger on my left hand. Unfortunately modeling will be out of the question for the next 8 weeks. Any suggestions about what to do with my time now that I can't make models for the next while?

Research your next project is the obvious answer - but then again you may not be one who gets totally involved in research which at times can bring a project to a screeching halt - like how is the other side camoflaged.

Depending on what subjects you model - you may want to do some reading on the overall subject to select a good project.

Mundane things like organize you stash and research materials, and wash parts.

Actually if this summer is any example - 8 weeks can go pretty fast.

What subjects do you model?

Unless they are going to immobilize your whole left hand, I don't see why you can't do any work at all...maybe not everything you care to do, but some things at least...unless your left handed, and even then, light or easier work like simply cutting parts off sprues, filing flash, etc.

If not, you can always buy kits, buy aftermarket stuff, do research, hone your plan for modeling world domination...

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to buy more stuff.

I would suggest finger exercises......ummm nose picking, flashing the bird. These are all good strengthening and stretching routines for any digit!!!
