That Boeing 307 is just down the street from me, dock has a nice posting with a little history and if you are friendly, you can get invited aboard. After getting that Russian kit in 1/72 of the 307, I am thinking of making mine into the boat. Bob O'Donovan captain OD
we gotta have a picture gallery here. i know that there is a 'what if' sig, but i am still smiling at the following seen at the ipms nationals at telford.
#1 a HP Victor in Luftwaffe markings and a orange, light blue and slightly darker light blue scheme.
#2 a Republic F-105 in Royal Air Force anti-flash white.
#3 a GD F-111 in RAF dark green and gray camo' with _correct_ serial no. [yes, if you look hard enough, you'll find the serial range that _WAS_ allocated to the F-111K. i know what it was because it is in a book at 'home.]
and if anyone builds anoth 1/48 TSR2 vacform or limited run injection mold kit i'll scrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrream!
I'm planning to do a 'production' version of the Saunders Roe SR.177 (interceptor with both jet and rocket engines, never got beyond the drawing board), with Dutch air force markings, i.e. "what if Lockheed hadn't been able everyone into buying the F-104".
my one and only what if was a fw190 painted orange on top, sand yellow bellow with medium green splotches.Did it when I was @16 just for the hell of it.Got a lot of good comments from everyone that saw it.My niece insisted it had chicken pox lol I also did the testors F-19 in full color markings,to copy one that was displayed on the local news way back when.It had been built using the markings for an SR-71,IIRC I'd like to do some "what if the confederacy won the civil war and had an air force now" planes, maybe using either the stars and bars or the (real) US WW1 insignia on a stealth jet.Or perhaps an X-29 in luftwaffe markings? Or a star trek enterprise in usaf markings...better yet,Pan Am markings,to show a relationship from the movie 2001 to Trek...
Its the same kit, but without the Hales logo. I wish my aftermarket decal stash had anything compatible with this kit in it, but unfortunately, it doesn't.
