Need a clarification on the colors of Zirkus Rosarius acft

I have been trying to find out thru various Luftwaffe websites and forums but I cannot get a definitive answer to my quandary.

I need to know what color green were the captured P-51B mustangs (T9+CK)The decal instructions state RLM 75 (too gray for me). It looks more like RLM 82 or RLM 70. I know that they carried the original OD green until being repainted but I need to know what RLM color was used for the repainting. I am now ready to lay on paint and wanted to get a consensus before committing to paint.

Which is it: RLM 70,71, 80, 81, 82 or 83 and which Olive drab would be the best to use if I go that route. I have all the Aeromaster and Modelmaster colors and Tamiya.

The monograph by Kenneth A. Merrick and Thomas H. Hitchcock, The Official Monogram Painting Guide to German Aircraft: 1935-1945 (Monogram Aviation Publications: Boylston, Massachusetts, 1980) has a pretty good write up on pp. 130-131 with color samples. They feel that upper surfaces were either RLM 74 (Gray-green) or RLM 75 (Gray-Violet) with the under surfaces being RLM 04 (yellow). Some fighters assigned to 2./Versuchverband OKL (an example being P-47D-20 T9+EK) were painted Brown-Violet on the upper surfaces which, at least to me, appears very close to the US olive drab. Personally, I' would use the RLM 75 and, for 1/48 scale, add a bit of white/light grey to lighten it > HTH
