New Books: Valkyrie, Blackbirds, X-Planes

I just received the three latest books from Specialty Press and they are unbelievable. Valkyrie: North American's Mach 3 Superbomber is nearly 300 pages packed full of photos and info on many of the Nuclear powered bomber designs, XF-103 and F-108 history, WS-110 development and of course the XB-70. It is nearly the same size as the X-15 book 'Hypersonic' and well worth the money. It is available from Amazon at:

Next up is Lockheed Blackbirds: WarbirdTech Volume 10 (Revised Edition). When these guys say revised, they mean revised. They have completely tossed out the old edition and started from scratch. I have just about everything published on Blackbirds and these guys have dug up some fresh A-12, YF-12, M-21 and SR-71 photos along with some nice images and cutaway views of the Fish and Kingfish proposals I have never seen before. If you like the Blackbird, this is one to get. You can find this one at:

Last but not least is the new X-Planes Photo Scrapbook. Just pictures and captions of lots of cool X-planes. Instead of doing something like Jay Miller's books and list them chronologically, they are broken down by subjects such as High-Speed Flight, Vertical Flight, Lifting Bodies, Prototypes, etc. You definitely won't be disappointed if you pick this one up.
