That would certainly be the case here although the Democrats would be happy to have 'any' voters.

Uh...yes they are - the most glaring example I can think of is auto insurance. It's illegal to drive in most states without liability insurance, just like it's illegal to not pay your taxes. Only difference is that they are a bit more agreesive about collecting taxes.

But that wasn't my point - my point was that we subsidize the irresponsibility of the some by collectivizing and/or sociallizing the ability to pay for services to the point that no one can pay individually...and as pointed out above, even though it's the law that you have to purchace a service to excercize a privledge, the providers of said service still retain the "right" to refuse it. Hence my use of the word "racket".

IF you can get the PD to take a report...last uninsured guy that rear-ended me in Upland got off SCOTT FREE and left me with an $800 repair bill. The cops won't show if there's no bodily injury...it's like they're too busy or something...and if I HAD gotten them to take a report I'm informed that I would have gotten point on MY license as well...and the dude rear-ended ME...it's a damn RACKET...

Amen, brother...they should all be taken out and shot...several times...with a small caliber weapon...I'd start with the kneecaps and other major joints...and then let them bleed out so they get a chance to know how it feels...

I'd be careful...not sure I'd let a parollee vote if he was on release from prison and still "serving sentance" in effect due to being on parole as a condition of release.

I'd certainly have no problem with an automatic issuance of a resoration of civil rights writ on completion of the parole period. But I'd definately NOT open the door to voting for those whom are still under obligation to the court until sentance is fully completed.

That's no different than here. "Casinos will be the only thing to save NYS."? Trouble is, its true; they already have the bread, its time to throw in the circuses as well. According to a news article that I have, back in 1976 (or so) when Pennsy put limitations on welfare and residency requirements as well, most of the recipiants moved north to New York and have been here ever since. Funny thing is whenever you hear about someone hitting the Lotto, they always talk about moving the Pennsylvania. Me, I haven't been the same since I saw that nice little chateau outside of Mechanicsburg. I want to go back, even if the 4" of snow shut down the area.
