Paasche needles are matched with a different tip, for the example there are

1, 3, and 5 needles - these have 1, 3, and 5 tips correspondingly. If you are using a large needle with the small tip it could be blocking the paint passages and forcing the bubbling you described. Check to be sure you have both the correct needle and tip.. HTH

When you pull the trigger mechanism back, does the needle recede into the tip? I've found that sometimes my VL needle sticks and won't move back and forth when the trigger is moved back and forth. If I strip it down and clean it again, often it will work.

Paasche VL air brushes have a set of three holes in the air brush body. If they are clogged the air can back up into the color cup and cause bubbling. The tip assemblies also have a series of very small holes around the central opening that can clog and cause the same effect.

if the air brush hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time, these can also cause the bubbling problem. Very fine music wire can be gently run through these and will restore good performance. Pipe cleaners can be used to clean the center opening in the air brush body as necessary. Hope this helps

Gunze Sangyo thinner does an exceptional job of cleaning these areas

There's apparently some blockage there. Tear it down, make sure everything's right. Are all the o rings in the right place? hth
