Just a quick question, dug this kit out got to work on it. What brand, color would be most accurate to paint this kit? Do any companies make a "desert pink" color? Andrew Nelles

Probably not. There is no "official" color cuz the SAS won't talk aboout it. There's probably a mix in the instructions for Tamiya paint. As close as you're likly to get.
My directions just say paint "desert pink" or "dark green". The kit i got is an old one, late 70's. Have the directions been updated at all? Andrew Nelles
The original paint was a local brew using allegedly red oxide primer and white the only 2 colours available locally in Oman.
It was found to very effective in the harsh mountainous terrain & deserts of Southern Arabia
You can get away with a bit of artistic license IMHO if it looks right to you that'll do.
