I never got a good look at the Mauve offering, but the Ironside gun I do have. The plate truss that forms the cradle is PE (looks to be 0.080). Dragon, of course, did this in a very large plastic part that goes much the length of the box (IIRC). To this skeleton you add outer plates and inner bulkheads. Not much detail, but then, neither does the real thing. :-)
The Ironside trucks were probably the worst feature of the kit. The Dragon parts look to be much better. The Hasegawa parts are quite crude in comparison (of course, the Hasegawa kit is rather old, I believe, and all of the 1/72 Hasegawa armor kits are pretty simplified).
And, yeah, a K5 is not a K5(e). I believe the K5 is a WWI piece?
