I saw a couple of Tamiya's new "pre-painted" car model kits. One, for example, was a Porshe race car that was painted and decaled. Anyone buy one of these kits? Are they worth the $58 price tag in regard to paint finish quality and workmanship?

That, Jeff, is for you to decide. If you think that paying the company to paint and finish the model is good value for money, then it works for you. Personally, if I wanted an already built model, I'd be looking at the die-casts from the likes of AutoArt, Kyosho and Joef - but then, that's me.
