An excellent suggestion. It's a fine book. Also check another title, a later one, by the same author that I believe is called "MacArthur's Pearl Harbor; December 8." Haven't read it yet but I've seen it at Barnes & Nobles. Numerous photos and Bartsch is a very readable writer.

I read a book called the Ragged, Rugged Warriors and I think it covered the first 6 months after PH. It may have done more than US, but it was really good. I have a copy but it's still packed away.

Thank You All for the information you have provided me. I think I will start with " Doomed from the Start" and try to procure it through Amazon.com. I recall having difficulties with the Texas publisher as far as the price on their website and the price I was given on the phone so I shelved the project for another day. Thanks Again Mike IPMS
