Is there a set of decals available for the Luftwaffe P-47? I noticed it in FSM a month or so ago, really caught me offguard--very interesting.

have you built and of the r planes that had floats? somehow i doubt there are any kitted. i've only heard of one r plane kit and i forgot what it is. would love any of the staaken giants.

i need to find a cheap used copy. i keep forgetting all the great pics. i remebered half way the staaken and spaced the dorniers...dug, he pioneered flying boats.
The Arado Ar 196 has been available from Airfix and Heller at times. They are not the same kit and the Airfix has been around longer.

My interest is in the more oddball designs of the WWII Luftwaffe. The Riesenflugzeugen were WWI - far too many sticks and bits of string for me (and I speak as one who abandoned a clipper ship Thermopylae half-built when it began to resemble knitting).
I believe Contrail did a vacform of the Zeppelin Staaken R.VI, with a float option; check here for someones tale of building it.
I started out on 1/24 and 1/25 cars and trucks, but dabbled in other subjects too. Since I joined the local IPMS chapter I've developed an interest in armor, but my primary interest is 1/72 figures and dioramas to place them in. While other guys in my club do 1/72 models, I'm the only one doing the figures. Half the fun is coming up with ideas for the scene, then selecting the figures I'll use.

I for one like diversity. I just get bored building same scale, same subject over and over. I just couldn't build german WWII 1/35 tanks over and over or 1/72 modern soviet jets. I build planes(All nations) mostly jets but some propelled ones too in
1/72, armor (All nations) in 1/35 which as of late has become my favorite subject, also sci-fi figures in 1/4 scale (Aliens, predators, terminator...so on) and 1/400 french navy ships. I got the basement full of models and when i finish one, i go down there get them all out and pick one. It's a long process but it's fun.Max

I build 1/48 WW2 aircraft. I have taken it upon myself to build a model of every combat aircraft flown in World War 2. I'm 34, and figure that I will be worm food before I can ever complete my quest!
