Wyvern

I got an answer to my question regarding resin details/cockpit. etc for the

1/48 scale Trumpeter Wyvers S.4 kit and I appreciate that info. I'm still wondering if anyone has any info on the other question I asked about this kit regarding the wing guns.

The box art shows a pair of Wyverns flying over the Suez Canal with underwing ordnance and wing guns. The actual kit, however, has the wing guns molded with bullet-shaped caps over the blast tubes. The illustrations in the instructions also show the capped blast tubes. I know very little about this aircraft.

Can anyone tell me.......did Wyverns participating in the Suez ops had the guns removed or is this an error by Trumpeter and the guns should be installed?

Hi Bill this site has a pic of the Wyvern and armament IS in the wing....

This site tabulates some history of the Wyvern and yes it was flown over Suez so would have had the yellow invasion stripes

Bill, Check this link, there were a couple of detail photos posted there, as well.

Thank you, Don, for taking the time to forward my question to HyperScale and to others as well who also offered help with my question. It's now clear to me that the guns were installed and I can cut the bullet caps off for a Suez Wyvern.
