Hi, does anyone know if given the maximum deflection and factor of safety of a thin shell, can I find the permitted loading/pressure?
Simply apply a boundary condition of the prescribed distance and COSMOSWorks will calculate the load.
Yes, and also, if your model is truly "linear" (and it should be if you're using Cosmos), you can scale the results from your first solution to find the permitted loading, as a multiple of the loading you solved for.
But, watch out for buckling and nonlinearities. They don't scale linearly :)
