Display States - sub-assemblies

Is it possible to change the active display state for a sub-assembly while operating in the parent assembly? The only method I can figure out is by loading the sub-assembly and changing active state from there, but I would prefer to manipulate from the parent assembly (much like configurations)

Thanks, Mike SW2007

Expand the display pane and rmb the subassy (in display pane) you wanna change display state for.

When I do that, it changes the display state of the parent assembly, not the subassy.

Thanks, Mike

It doesn't here, I can change display state on any subassy or part in the main assy just by right clicking in the display pane (or tree). You can do it in the tree as well, but if display pane is expanded You have "visible control" over all component display states in the main assy.

Are you changing Display (ie, wireframe, hidden lines removed, shaded, etc.) or Display STATE? These is a distinct difference.

Thanks, Mike

Yes Sir....sorry ....language confusion. You're right ...it seems to be a tricky one without making configs of the subassy with different display states
