Dual monitors with SW................?

I have a system with two monitors being driven by one video card. Is it possible to get 2 drawing screens with SW?

TIA,

Dennis

Well... sort of. Do you mean having a different SW doc on each monitor? If you configure your video to treat the two monitors as a single display, you can stretch SW over both monitors and then tile multiple documents within SW.

How to do this depends on what video card you have. You'll have to look into your documentation to find out how to get OpenGL acceleration on both displays, if it's possible.

Yes, I cad stretch the SW window over both displays. I thought I might be able to have a different two drawing windows without doing that.

Thanks,

I haven't tried it recently, but you can (could) open more than one session of SolidWorks at a time. I've done this when starting from a clean empty file to replicate an existing, badly planned model, and had the old model on a separate monitor.

I guess you would want to be sensitive to RAM headroom issues if you're doing assembly or tricky part modelling.

Clearly you wouldn't want to be working on related models across the sessions.

How are you guy's dealing with the toolbars when stretching the screen? seems like it would be difficult to manage
