How do you guys do labels for products. A lable extruded to an appropriate thicknes and then extruding all the "ink" to an appropriate thickness gets reeeeeeeaaaaalllllll slow. My goal is to be able to see the text on the lable in the drawings and assy's and be able to easily edit it for future revisions on the part and then auto update the drawings.. Extruding all this complex geometry just so it lookslike the real thing is not going to be the solution. TIA

Why don't you use the Wrap function in SW04 and simply sribe the text into the label.

Scott, I think Mr. 3d here is referring to the big performance hit extruded text takes in SWX. I have been there before as well. After a couple lines, performance goes south.
What I have done in the past is make a 'simple' configuration with all the text suppressed. The 'default' config is only shown in drawings and as needed.

Scott's theory is that scribing would perform better than extruding since there is no thickness to the text.
I would tend to agree it's worth trying.
Remember, the Wrap function can perform like the Split Curve function but with multiple profiles...

Best thing to do is specify labels in label-type programs. Editability will drastically improve. Also, you can't send a mere CAD file of any kind to a printer for printing.
I make labels in PhotoShop, but better programs exist. Then I use PhotoWorks for good renderings of the labels. Once in a while I'll use your method if the profiles/colors are that simple. For production, however, you'll need to send PDF, JPEG, TIFF, AI, or other graphics formats for printing.
