i have a design which has a person siting in control cab, it would be very usefull to be able to view the model from the operators point of view, i don't think this is possible in SW, are there any inexpenive addins that would help?

I believe the people who want to do this have to cut away to that point. Using Perspective may help also.
I've been looking at NavisWorks. It's about $500 for the basic package I believe and it would allow you to do this and much more. Check it out.

why dont you do an assembly cut to remove everything behind the person
