Which version of Excel is required?

Solidworks' technical bulletin dated 1-6-04 states that Office 97 can still be used. However it will not be supported after 2004/SP3.0 is released. Solidworks' system requirements page indicates that Excel

2000, 2002, or 2003 is required, no mention of 97.

Which is correct? We will be ready to install Solidworks 2004 in the spring; but we need to know if Office upgrades are needed as well.

I'm still using Office 97 (with sr1&2 patches) in SW2004, sp2.1. I haven't seen any problems with my design tables or excel-based BOM. I think what they are saying in that release is that if you DO have any problems, then don't go to SWX for help. They aren't actually saying that Office 97 won't work, just that they won't support it.

I will probably be getting a new computer this year, and that new one will have the latest Office suite. On my old box, I'll stay as I am unless I see dramatic problems. Good Luck.
