Has anyone else noticed that if you install the windows desktop search thing, as required by SW2007 search, file folders get slower and it actually makes the normal windows File Search buggy?

yes. I've uninstalled it. it also caused problems for me when my computer started up or shut down, and indexing takes forever and slows everything down, especially when combined with a-v scanning.
Yep. Real PITFA during beta to have it forced on us as well. They at least gave us the option to not install it. Especially when you started SW and had to use task manager to end the SWsearch task to even load SW.
A real POS, typical Microsoft. Computer acted like the CPU had been immersed in gooey molasass. I got rid of it. Do a search on Google for "how to"
