Anybody have a clue as to the colors of the interior of C&O passenger cars, both heavyweight and streamlined? Gene ABV61-1043.001.HCB

OK. Here's some colors from pix in the Stegmaier book:

P-S lt wt sleeper: double bedroom walls - gray to putty (like an old IBM PC), seat - red plush upholstery with brown leatherette arm rest, aisle side of open aisle door - pinkish tan to very light brown (or maybe a grayed salmon)

1600 series lt wt coach: upper side wall and ceiling - pale yellow to buff, partition walls at ends of seating area - light brown, seats - slightly grayed medium green upholstery (which appears more blueish in a pix taken after car 1641 was sold to AMTRAK) with gray metal sides with chrome trim strips, aisle floor - slightly pinkish red mottled linoleum edged with gray stripes

600 series hvy wt coach: walls and ceiling - light gray, seats - maroon plush, aisle floor - light olive green linoleum, inside of vestibule door - light olive green to "institutional" green

"Tavern" series hvy wt diner: walls and ceiling - light buff to eggshell or antique white, aisle floor - very dark green, chairs - exposed aluminum frames with very dark green back and seat upholstery, tables - white table cloths, widow curtains - light yellow with multi color printed pattern

"Club" series lt wt diner - walls - probably mid gray, but pix shows distinct blue-green tint most likely from fluorescent lighting, chairs - exposed aluminum frames with mid brown leatherette back and seat upholstery, interior partitions - medium brown wood grained Formica, serving and cash register counter - white, window curtains - off white with multi-color polka dots.

Hope this helps and my color descriptions make sense to you. Gary Q
