No way... ex-FEMA director Mike Brown is more (un)qualified.

Why not Terry Thompson. I don't think I want to hear any more about his childhood memories of Winnie the Poo. Nothing against Winnie the Poo. I talk about Winnie the Poo sometimes........to my four year old. Now Amtrak or any government operation would be a great place to capitalize on ones memories of fretting Piglets , fat gluttonous Bears, and an Ass with a sour disposition. Bruce

Hopefully someone who will reschedule 50 and 51 to meet west of Staunton (west of Clifton Forge would be even better).

If you're looking for a real IDIOT, try Al Franken. He's going to quit his real job and run for Senator from Minnesota!

Don't forget the (practically; I know they pay a pittance in taxes) free ride semis get to use the interstates. This was brought home the first weekend this month when it seemed I was the only auto on the road, with semis filling the road on both sides.

Steve Caple spake thus:

Right; or as the Firesign Theater said, "Keep the problem in the pockets of the businessman."

Yeah, I haven't seen those "This vehicle pays $5,367 inroad taxes" stickers for a while, but I always considered it a pittance compared to the costs to build roads to handle the weight of semis, and to repair the damage they do. Most people evidently can't comprehend it's a cube relationship and that a vehicle with ten times the axle loading has a thousand times the impact on the road structure.

Try a "google" then ... don't "doubt" READ!

HUH??? That doesn't 'subsidize' anything ... It's necessary for ACCESS by the residents! I suppose you would count the sidewalks as subsidy for the mass transit?

Lordy me, another Chubby Checker.

Yea ... tax ALL the people for the benefit of a select few!
