Some of you may know that part of the original Bamford factory in Uttoxeter is still used by JCB's heavy products division to manufacture large earth movers. I believe that this was the baler factory, the older area where engines were made went a few years ago at the same time the offices were made in to a medical centre. Now JCB are looking to move to a new factory and the old site is going to be developed to help fund the new factory. This makes a change from the usual story these days when the factory is demolished because the company has gone out of business or switched production to china.
