Fred's Legacy

Jan 08, 2006 3 Replies

A question from my son, Jason, has prompted this posting as we had been watching one of the programmes he had made.

"What happened to all of Fred's stuff?"

I guess his family inherited it all but would they continue in his style with the equipment.

Knowing the likely wishes of the man, he has probably left most in trust for his son(s) I can't see his last wife wanting to get too involved.

I think the oil's in the blood - one son's involved with the IoM Steam Railway.

According to 'Old Glory' the steam roller and tractor have left Bolton to go to safe storage at Preston and whilst there to be serviced. His wishes were that both these engines went to his sons.

The mineshaft has been saved and now has planning permission and could form the centrepiece of the 'Fred Dibnah Experience'. Entrance will be by special invitation only.

Nothing will happen until outstanding matters of Fred's will are finallised.
